About Marc Bernstein


Marc opened his own employment law practice after more than 35 years of Big Law experience litigating on behalf of, and advising, the Boards, senior management and executives of the largest financial services institutions in the world.

After graduating from Harvard Law School, Marc clerked on the United State District Court for the Eastern District of New York, litigated at Paul Weiss, and was partner and Chair of the New York Employment Law Department of the international law firm of Paul Hastings.

His experience also includes heading the Labor and Employment legal group of American International Group, Inc. where, for more than 14 years, he was the senior employment lawyer advising the Board and management regarding the company’s global and wide-ranging employment and compliance issues.

Marc has litigated all aspects of employment law in federal and state courts across the country, arbitration, and before administrative agencies on behalf of both employers and employees, including employment discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower claims, non-compete and trade secret actions, wage and hour suits, breach of contract and ERISA litigation, and executive compensation matters. He also conducts large-scale investigations, drafts employment contracts and benefit plans, and regularly advises Boards of Directors, management and executives regarding a wide range of employment issues.
